Continued Innovation in eMobility
For the third year in a row, Great Dane will showcase an electric refrigerated Everest trailer at a TMC show, highlighting the ability to collaborate, design, and implement eMobilty solutions for a range of applications. The R&D trailer is equipped with an electric regen axle from HDNABI that provides power to a battery while in motion, with a low drag structure, to support electric trailer components like trailer refrigeration units (TRUs) and liftgates.
The trailer is also equipped with the following:
- An Addvolt zero-emissions battery system
- A rear liftgate with an electric open and close feature from Maxon
- A backup camera with a display unit from ASA Electronics
- An automatic rear door opener from Whiting Door
- And a 120V AC charging outlet for items like pallet jacks
Highlighting Sustainability
Additionally, the Everest will come equipped with ClimaCore, Great Dane’s trailer insulation that uses Hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) technology, significantly reducing the impact on the environment. The HFO-based liquid-blowing agent minimizes the release of chemicals that amplify infrared light, aligning with efforts to combat global warming.
The Great Dane booth will also display a Champion Composite dry van with panels that are 100% recyclable and a Sahara truck body attached to a Rizon electric truck for cleaner last mile delivery.
In support of sustainability efforts across the freight transportation industry, Great Dane is sponsoring the first annual Sustainability Pathfinder Awards that will be launched at the show, recognizing companies in the industry that are paving the way for a greener future.
Search, Click, Go
The booth will provide a demo experience of Great Dane’s eCommerce parts ordering platform, Parts to Go, where conference attendees can learn more about this quick and easy solution for buying trailer parts and keeping their fleet on the road.
Last Mile Partnership
A Subzero Technologies temperature-controlled cargo van will also be showcased, featuring their high-performance Polar ProTM thermoplastic insulated body that is completely seamless, extremely durable, and resistant to water and chemicals, allowing the vehicle to be power washed without impacting performance. This efficient temperature-controlled cargo van provides an additional solution for last mile delivery.
Telematics Standard
Great Dane’s telematics partner, FleetPulse, will also have a presence in the booth, offering demonstrations on the smart trailer system that now comes standard on all Great Dane dry van, refrigerated, and flatbed trailers. FleetPulse data can significantly reduce a vehicle’s carbon footprint with insights for running a more sustainable and efficient fleet.
“Great Dane has been a pioneering leader for more than 120 years, leading the industry with innovations while remaining committed to providing products that offer optimum safety. We’re proud to showcase solutions that are good for our planet and designed to help our customers work more efficiently and safely. We’re also proud to be sponsoring The Pathfinder Award with Transport Topics, recognizing two companies in our industry that are paving the way for a greener future.”
