Great Dane Showcases Safety, Sustainability, and Performance-Focused Innovations at the 2024 IFDA Conference

Great Dane is proud to showcase innovative transportation solutions focused on safety, sustainability, and performance at the 2024 International Foodservice Distributors Association (IFDA) Conference held at the Kansas City Convention Center, September 22-25. Attendees can experience the Great Dane showcase at the Convention Center Expo at booth #806.

“We’re honored to be a leading sponsor of IFDA’s 2024 conference, and part of an exceptional event where food distribution experts gather to explore opportunities for organizational growth,” said Rick Mullininx, President and COO of Great Dane. “We’re also proud again this year to showcase our premium products that illustrate Great Dane’s steadfast commitment to safety, sustainability, and performance for the food service industry.”

Among the highlights on display at the Great Dane booth:

Exclusive Safety Features

  • Great Dane’s exclusive partnership with SLIPNOT®, a leading safety flooring and surface technologies provider, creates long-lasting end-user safety grip slip resistance for entering and exiting trailers. The safety grip technology solution creates a bond to metal products, creating a high-friction surface that can help eliminate slips and falls and has a significantly longer lifespan than traditional solutions. SLIPNOT is standard on Great Dane Everest trailers equipped with roll-up rear doors or side doors.
  • Interior LED strip lighting is standard on Everest and Alpine models, providing a 74% increase in brightness and better dispersion of light in the equipment. This also makes it easier to repair and replace with the removal of internal roof lighting components.
  • Exterior LED work lights are available over the doors to assist with early morning and late night deliveries in areas with low light.

Sustainability & Thermal Integrity

  • Great Dane’s Strata System offers layers of protection to equip high-performing, long-lasting Everest refrigerated trailers. ClimaCore insulation is designed with a new blowing agent to virtually eliminate any contribution to global warming. Our PunctureGuard lining is equipped with Microban,® a broad-spectrum antimicrobial protection that fights bacteria growth, odors, and stains for the life of the trailer. Fleets can also upgrade their lining to ThermoGuard to maintain insulation integrity by keeping moisture out and preventing outgassing. The outside of the trailer is protected by Ultra Road Shield, designed to protect the trailer from environmental elements with enhanced corrosion protection.

Performance

  • Our exclusive low-profile blade lock design reduces the potential for damage and exerts constant pressure along the full height of the door to prevent air loss and keep temperatures consistent inside.
  • Asset tracking comes standard on Great Dane trailers from FleetPulse, with additional upgrade options for full smart trailer capabilities right off the manufacturing line including ABS fault codes, TIS alerts, and reefer insight integration.

“We’re proud to present our high-performance solutions designed to overcome the specific challenges of food service fleets. Our innovations enhance productivity, optimize thermal efficiency, and improve safety, ultimately maximizing both efficiency and safety for drivers and fleet managers,” said Chris Hammond, Executive Vice President of Sales at Great Dane.

These features and several additional capabilities and innovations can be seen on a Great Dane 48’ Everest reefer and a 22’6” Alpine truck body at booth #806.
