Great Dane Sponsors 2019 Private Fleet of the Year Award

(Savannah, Georgia – April 19, 2019) – Great Dane announced its sponsorship of the 2019 Fleet Owner Private Fleet of the Year award, which was presented at a luncheon during the National Private Truck Council (NPTC) annual conference and exhibition on April 16. Randy Gosson, Great Dane’s director of National Accounts, AdvantEDGE, along with executives from Fleet Owner, presented the award to Frito-Lay.

“Great Dane was proud to be the exclusive sponsor of this year’s Private Fleet of the Year award,” Gosson said. “It was an honor to present this award to Frito-Lay, an impressively innovative company that shares Great Dane’s commitment to efficiency, sustainability and new technology.”

According to Fleet Owner, the Private Fleet of the Year award takes into account not only the overall size of fleets but other factors as well to determine the ‘best-of-the-best’ in the industry. Frito-Lay, along with its parent company, PepsiCo, operates the second largest private fleet in the U.S. and the largest number of all-electric vehicles. The company has shown its strong commitment to the environment and sustainability through the adoption of alternative fuels, as well as through its participation in the North American Council for Freight Efficiency’s (NACFE) Run on Less program, of which Great Dane was also a proud sponsor.

“At Great Dane, we are constantly working to develop innovative solutions to help our customers achieve maximum fuel efficiency and to bring awareness to the technologies that are currently available,” Gosson said. “So, it is encouraging to see companies like Frito-Lay, who are not only embracing the latest technology, but looking forward to create sustainable solutions for the future.”
