Great Dane is proud to share its aftermarket program has earned the ATMC (ASE Training Manager’s Council) National Excellence in Training Award.
The National Excellence in Training Award recognizes Great Dane’s Aftermarket Certified Technician Program. Great Dane is one of only three organizations in the transportation industry honored for training excellence by the ASE Training Manager’s Council in 2021.
“We are honored to be recognized for our ongoing commitment to equip Great Dane service technicians with the highest training standards, to ensure safe and reliable transportation solutions for our valued customers,” shared Bill Healy, Great Dane’s Vice President of Aftermarket Services.
As the only trailer manufacturer to have received ASE CASE provider accreditation in both Instructor-Led Training and eLearning, Great Dane recognizes the return on investment gained by investing in robust training systems, intensive needs analysis, and structured design and development processes for its technicians.
The company’s technicians are certified under the Great Dane Aftermarket Certified Technician program (ACT), assuring its customers that its training processes are held to the highest national standards.
Great Dane’s training programs incorporates safety compliance, online theory courses, while also undertaking On the Job Training (OJT) Training and Evaluation Standards (TES). Once the employee has demonstrated competence in the OJT, they are evaluated against the standards criteria. Great Dane has developed over 100 of these OJT standards covering the most frequent service jobs across dry van, refrigerated, and platform trailers.
“This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication from numerous people from our Human Resource and Aftermarket teams to develop a training system which ensures employees are skilled and capable,” added Colin Duncan, Great Dane’s Senior Manager Learning Architecture.
A strong training program isn’t designed solely to enhance a technician’s skills. It also inspires self-confidence and gives him or her the drive to perpetually improve. The training programs empower Great Dane technicians to provide safe, consistent, and quality workmanship that Great Dane customers expect, and helps increase uptime by putting trailers back on the road quickly.
To earn this prestigious award, training programs are recognized for their ability to meet the education needs of industry professionals through exceptional application of development, delivery and assessment training principles and are judged by a panel of peers on how the program addresses critical components that comprise a well-structured training program.
