Everest refrigerated trailers are best for larger-volume, longer-route foodservice distribution, while Alpine refrigerated truck bodies and Johnson C-Series walk-in bodies are better suited for local and regional deliveries with frequent stops. Route length, delivery frequency, product mix, and unloading requirements all factor into the right choice.
A refrigerated trailer like Everest is designed for high-volume, long-haul or regional distribution, and requires a separate tractor to pull it. A refrigerated truck body like Alpine or Johnson is mounted directly on a truck chassis, and if often better suited for last-mile, multi-stop foodservice routes with frequent loading and unloading. Many foodservice fleets operate a mix of both to support different route types.
Alpine is an aluminum-construction truck body with side-door access and Great Dane’s Strata™ liner system (Microban, SLIPNOT, PunctureGuard/ThermoGuard). Johnson C-Series is a fiberglass-construction walk-in body that lets drivers step inside to organize or pick orders, with all-electric refrigeration options.
Everest refrigerated trailers are available in 28-, 36-, 48-, and 53-foot lengths to support different route volumes and distribution needs. Alpine refrigerated truck bodies range from 16’6″ to 28’6″ in 2-foot increments to support local and regional foodservice deliveries. The ideal size depends on route density, product mix, delivery frequency, and cargo volume.
