Johnson Truck Body
INNOVATIONS
Quality Features For Powerful Productivity
Seamless Fiberglass Design
Our seamless fiberglass exterior is the first barrier against ambient conditions. The formed fiberglass construction doesn’t conduct heat, helping to increase thermal efficiency, while also providing a smooth surface for decal applications.
Mounting System Strength
Our heavy-duty truck body mounting system offers secure mounting with reduced maintenance, eliminating U-bolts, U-bolt maintenance, and rot. The mounting system also allows the truck body to be moved to multiple chassis over time, reducing total cost of ownership.
Floor Strength
The floor is supported by steel crossmembers that sit on long stringers for support. Floor sills are completely embedded in urethane foam for a lower ground-to-floor height. The sealed protective sub-floor finish protects the crossmembers and insulation from moisture intrusion, impact, and corrosion.
Customizations & Configurations
Our Johnson line offers various extruded aluminum flooring, cargo restraint, shelving, and storage options, providing superior efficiency and durability. Step options are also available, designed with your driver’s safety in mind.
AUTOMOTIVE-STYLE DOOR HANDLES
Custom-engineered automotive-style door handles make it easy for drivers to open and close compartments while eliminating a potential area of corrosion.
EXTERIOR LIGHTING OPTIONS
Tailor your exterior lighting to your operational needs and illuminate delivery areas to enhance driver safety and visibility.
Tailored Door Solutions
Multiple side door options on both sides give you the flexibility to load and unload exactly how and where you need. Efficiency and access, every stop.
All-Electric Options
All-electric cold plate technology delivers precise temperature control that is clean, efficient, and ready for any route.

How does Great Dane’s Johnson Series use cold plate technology?
Great Dane’s Johnson truck bodies can use an all-electric cold plate refrigeration system designed for reliable temperature control in refrigerated truck bodies. This system includes traditional free-hanging cold plates and cold plate blower systems, both with automatic defrost capabilities to ensure steady, consistent temperatures.
The cold plates absorb and store cool energy during the night, gradually releasing it during transport, maintaining stable temperature ranges across multiple zones. This makes the Johnson ideal for transporting goods in fresh, frozen, and deep-frozen applications, providing efficient, energy-saving cooling with fewer moving parts and minimal maintenance.
