Refrigerated Truck Body Keeps It Cool In High Temps

Even though we’re reaching record high temperatures this summer, Leopold’s Ice Cream is keeping their popular frozen treats cold thanks to a Great Dane refrigerated truck body, equipped with spacious refrigerated capacity for deliveries.

Great Dane and Leopold’s enjoy a historic and legendary presence in Savannah, together serving the community for a combined 227 years.

Special Features Tailored for the Application

“We’re excited to have a high-quality delivery truck in our fleet so we can share our world-class ice cream with more people at more locations,” said Stratton Leopold, owner, and second-generation member of the Leopold family to run the business.

“Thanks to our newest ice cream truck body from Great Dane, we can keep our treats frosty as we make deliveries across the low country,” he added.

The specialized Great Dane Johnson refrigerated truck body is outfitted with a decal wrap and customized refrigeration specifications tailored to meet Leopold Ice Cream’s unique needs. The truck body was built at Great Dane’s Johnson Truck Body plant in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.

Special Features Help Drivers Work Efficiently

The truck body features an all-electric cold plate refrigeration system which keeps temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit and enables Leopold’s to serve their customers in an environmentally responsible way, while reducing costs.

The truck body also features six custom doors and compartments allowing for easily organized inventory access, with curbside reach-in doors, keeping drivers on the ground and eliminating the need to enter the truck multiple times a day.

Special Features Keep Food Fresh

“This is the top of the line in truck bodies, built to deliver thermal integrity and keep frozen goods at maximum cold temperatures to ensure freshness for every delivery,” said Chris Hammond, EVP of Sales for Great Dane.

From ice cream to fresh produce, Great Dane refrigerated truck bodies keep our customer’s products at the right temperature even in the heat of summer.
