Schuster’s Edge: Lighter Refrigerated Trailers, Greater ROI
In 1956, a young man named Orville Schuster started a business with just one truck and a lot of determination.
Read ArticleOn the outside, it looks like a family celebration at a local restaurant. But behind the scenes, Great Dane refrigerated foodservice trailers and truck bodies are hard at work, delivering fresh ingredients, specialty meats, and frozen goods at the right temperature, every time.
Together, we’ll design a refrigerated trailer or truck body solution that’s perfect for your operation, equipped with innovations found nowhere else.
Prioritizing safety in our design, we offer a range of advanced features to help keep your drivers safe. Through our exclusive partnership with SLIPNOT we provide an integrated safety grip solution that reduces the risk of slips and falls. Our interior LED strip lighting enhances visibility inside our equipment and Microban®-infused liners fight bacteria and odors for a cleaner interior. In addition, our RIG30 rear impact guard exceeds both American and Canadian trailer safety standards.
We can help optimize your workflows with multiple side-door placement options for easier loading and unloading. Choose from trailer lengths ranging from 28 to 53 feet to fit diverse cargo needs and delivery environments, while our truck bodies excel in the last mile. Customizable scuff bands with adjustable height options and our PunctureGuard liner elevate interior durability.
Our patented ThermoGuard™ liner, infused with Microban antimicrobial protection, delivers superior thermal performance by preventing outgassing and water weight gain, ensuring stable temperatures and fuel savings by reducing cooling unit run time.
Our innovative wood-free floor system features composite sills and furring that replace traditional wood supports, helping eliminate rot and moisture absorption for a stronger, longer-lasting trailer that maintains its thermal integrity mile after mile.
Electrical conduits are routed along the sidewall rather than through the center of the floor, eliminating the need for mid-floor notching and further enhancing durability and lifespan.
Our liners are infused with Microban® antimicrobial technology, providing built-in protection that won’t wash off and keeps interiors cleaner, fresher, and easier to maintain.
Our refrigerated trailers come factory-equipped with FleetPulseGO Track for instant location tracking, plus seamless upgrades to smart features like ABS fault code alerts, temperature monitoring, and more to boost uptime, efficiency, and ROI.

“Great Dane is a great supplier and partner of ours and has been for a long time. We continue to value that relationship.”
