Great Dane Miami Earns Safety Award For Seven Years Without A Safety Incident

Great Dane is proud to recognize its Miami Service Center for its unwavering commitment to safety with the Think Safety First Excellence Award for seven years without a recordable safety incident at the facility.

The transportation and aftermarket leader celebrated the service center’s staff with an awards luncheon to recognize their commitment to always “Think Safety First” and provide a safe environment for its teams and customers.

“At the end of the day, we have to take care of each other and our customers to be successful,” shared Bill Healy, VP of Aftermarket Services for Great Dane. “Thank you for all you’ve done. Every employee who has worked here the past seven years, every day, has ensured the ability for you to go home safely.”

Great Dane’s company-wide safety initiative, the “Think Safety First” program, focuses on safe working behaviors for individuals by teaching employees about the negative impacts an injury can have on the individual, and their family members and friends.

Great Dane leaders from around the country attended the Miami awards ceremony to thank them for their unprecedented achievement in safety excellence personally.

“At Great Dane, safety is not only one of our core values but also at the heart of everything we do as a company,” shared Chris Hammond, EVP of Sales for Great Dane. “We’re honored to recognize our Miami team for always putting safety at the forefront and being a leader in providing a safe work environment.”

Team leaders said it is due to the close-knit employee atmosphere that makes Great Dane Miami a leader in the company’s service center network, one where employees care about each other and the safety of those who come to the facility for industry-leading aftermarket services for fleets.

“It’s amazing the spirit of this team. The way they come to work each day and look out for each other, it’s inspiring,” said Ildo Raso, District Manager for Great Dane Miami and Great Dane Tampa. “This award is a testament to how much this team enjoys what they do and cares about each other.”

Great Dane Miami is a key Service Center in the nationwide Great Dane network, providing sales and aftermarket parts and service for tractor-trailers in southern Florida. Great Dane Miami currently employs nearly 30 full-time employees in the area.
