More than a Box on Wheels: Delivering Life’s Moments
When we see our trailers and truck bodies on the road, we don’t just see a box on wheels delivering things like ice cream, concert equipment, or construction materials.
Instead, we see our contribution in delivering life’s moments: an anniversary celebration, a teenager’s first concert, or a kindergartner’s first day of school. In meaningful ways, our equipment helps our customers deliver life’s moments.
As we begin a new year, it’s a good time to recognize the people behind those moments, the ones you don’t always see, but whose work matters each day.
The People Who Build What Moves Life Forward
Each of our trailer and truck body models begins with American ingenuity and craftsmanship. Our welders, builders, and problem-solvers take pride in what they do, knowing their work has a purpose beyond the shop floor. They’re not just building equipment; they’re building reliability and peace of mind.
“Our leadership met Great Dane’s leadership team, and when you look at our companies side-by-side, there are many similarities,” said Scott Lahaie, North America Fleet Operations Manager for Gordon Food Service. “We are both American companies, and Great Dane’s trailers and truck bodies are built in America. I think that means something, especially in today’s economy.”
Seeing It Firsthand
Our partnerships grow even stronger when people see our work up close. For B. Reynolds Trucking, that meant a visit to our Wayne, Nebraska manufacturing plant.
Brian Reynolds, President of B. Reynolds Trucking, along with two of his drivers, toured Great Dane Wayne and met the people behind our trailers. “I was impressed with the facility, the people, and the way we were warmly welcomed,” Reynolds said. “Seeing how the company operates firsthand, it’s clear that Great Dane prioritizes quality at every step.”
Moments like that matter, and creating those opportunities for our customers is part of who we are.
Our Customers and Their Customers
Just like us, our customers measure success by their customer relationships, as well.
Scott DeBoer, President and Owner of RM Trucking, had this to say about his hands-on approach to customer relationships:
“For a lot of local places, I’ll do deliveries myself, loading and dropping trailers. I’ll frequently stop in and say ‘hi’, just keeping a pulse on things. A lot of the customers have been with us for 25 to 30-plus years, and they’ve grown as we’ve grown,” he explained.
That kind of longevity doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built on showing up and following through for the people on the other end of the delivery.
Looking Ahead
At the end of the day, our trailers and truck bodies do more than move freight. They support the businesses and people that make everyday life better.
So, when we see our equipment rolling down the highway, we see connection. And we see life’s moments, delivered.
