(Nashville, Tennessee – February 27, 2017) – Great Dane is proud to showcase a variety of customized trailer and truck body solutions at this year’s Technology and Maintenance Council (TMC) Annual Meeting and Transportation Technology Exhibition. The event is being held at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee, from Feb. 27 – Mar. 2.
The theme of Great Dane’s display at booth #145 is “Ensuring the Safe and Efficient Delivery of Goods.” Throughout the booth, visitors are able to explore the custom design options that Great Dane offers to help enhance safety and efficiency. Among the items on display at Great Dane’s booth are:
A 28’ Everest Multi-temp Refrigerated Trailer custom built for Gordon Food Service. This high-end trailer was specially designed with several of Great Dane’s new product features for Gordon Food Service. It features Great Dane’s patented ThermoGuard liner, which is now enhanced with broad-spectrum antimicrobial protection that helps fight bacteria growth, stains and odors for the entire life of the trailer. The trailer also features Great Dane’s new telematics concept system, which provides basic pre-trip inspection checks, in-route maintenance alerts and PM schedule notifications to drivers and fleet managers while on the road. Also displayed on the trailer are several safety features, including Great Dane’s 4-in-1 Back-up Alarm System, a mini wireless rear-mounted camera, and Great Dane’s new rear impact guard design, which has been enhanced to be stronger and safer during collisions.
A 28’ Champion Dry Van custom built for Southeastern Freight Lines. This trailer showcases Great Dane’s Double Dex option, which features a fully recessed and captive beam system for additional cargo decking. Other noteworthy features on this versatile pup trailer include Great Dane’s exclusive PunctureGuard panels and scuffbands for increased protection from forklift and pallet jack damage, Prolam Waxin100TM full-length protective top coating, full-length PuRTM polyurethane undercoating, Green Wing aerodynamic side skirts, Stemco Platinum Performance Plus wheel end system, and a Meritor PSI tire inflation system with ThermAlert.
A 53’ Champion Composite Wall Dry Van built for Swift Transportation with a custom decal graphic celebrating the company’s 50th anniversary. This trailer features an integral extruded aluminum high base rail option for enhanced sidewall protection. Other features include a TTMA-rated 24,000+ pound floor with 1.38” Prolam hardwood flooring, Waxin100 full-length protective top coating, full-length PuR polyurethane undercoating, an EnduroGuard swing door rear frame, Bridgestone Ecopia R-197 low rolling resistance tires, a Holland DuraSystem slide spring suspension and Green Wing aerodynamic side skirts.
A 48’ Champion Composite Wall Dry Van custom built for Estes. This trailer features composite plate panels with 0.016” galvanized steel skins, an EnduroGuard roll-up rear frame, and dual-intensity braking rear header lights and outboard header lights with turn indicators for increased visibility and safety on the highway. It has Prolam hardwood flooring with full-length PuR polyurethane undercoating and Waxin protective top coat on the rear eight feet of the trailer to protect the floor from harsh conditions. Also on the trailer are a Meritor PSI tire inflation system with ThermAlert and Stemco’s Platinum Performance Plus wheel end system.
A 26’ Alpine Refrigerated Truck Body that features Great Dane’s insulation and foaming technology and an innovative body tie-down system. This lightweight and thermally efficient truck body features 4” insulation in the walls, a 10” integral extruded aluminum scuffband, two rows of full-length horizontal logistic tracks, and Grote 18” motion sensor dome lights. The body is mounted on an International chassis.
A 26’ Sahara Dry Freight Truck Body with a side door featuring Great Dane’s unique blade lock design. This versatile truck body also features Great Dane’s innovative body tie-down system, a Grote 100% LED light package with the Long-Life Wiring System that comes standard with a 10-year warranty, grabhandles at the rear, curbside and roadside for easy loading and unloading, and a rear impact guard featuring an integrated bumper with steps on the road and curbside. It is mounted on a HINO chassis.
Also on display is Great Dane’s 4-in-1 Back-up Alarm System designed to increase safety for drivers and pedestrians. This system features Grote’s integrated lamp that combines all stop/tail/turn and back-up functions into one industry-standard size lamp. The innovative 4-in-1 Back-up Alarm only works when the wheels turn backward and is completely independent of the ABS system on the brakes.
The Great Dane booth also features a special display highlighting the company’s Aftermarket services. The display includes information about Great Dane’s AdvantEDGE National Aftermarket Parts & Service Program, which gives members access to its 24/7 Emergency Roadside Service (ERS) program, controlled ordering and invoicing, competitive labor rates and more. A Love’s Travel Stops truck is on display with information about Great Dane’s ERS program. The display also features information about Great Dane’s trailer service technician training program and CASE accreditation as a training provider, which is administered by the Automotive Training Managers Council (ATMC) and accredited by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). Great Dane is the first semi-trailer original equipment manufacturer to receive CASE accreditation.
